Digital copying
Fjölís has concluded a trial agreement with the universities in Iceland regarding digital copying of Icelandic publications to use on the universities intranett. According the agreement the universities pay 12 million ISK per year to Fjölís. This is the second trial agreement on digital copying Fjölís negotiates. Since 2002 Fjölís and the University of Akureyri have had a trial agreement regarding digital copying of Icelandic publications. The agreement applies to works on the intranets of the universities. The volume of each work is restricted in the same way as photocopying of the same published work would be.
Central Government Administration
Fjölís and the Ministry of finance have started negotiation on a new agreement on photocopying in the Central Government Administration.
Municipal administration
Fjölís has agreements with nearly thirty local authorities based on a framework agreement which Fjölís and The Association of Icelandic Municipalities concluded and the Association recommended to the authorities.

Halldór Þ Birgisson, Chairman of the Board of Fjölís, and Jónmundur Guðmarsson, Town mayor of Seltjarnarnes sign an agreement in September 2004.
Legislation
The Icelandic Copyright Act no. 73/1972 was amended in February 2006. The amendments are to adapt the Icelandic Copyright Act to the EU directive no. 2001/29/EF from May 22, 2001 on harmonisation of certain aspects of copyright and related rights in the information society.
Choirs
Approx. 23 choirs have signed an agreement based on a framework agreement which Fjölís and The Association of Men´s Choir in Iceland concluded in Autumn 2004, and on a framework agreement from 2006 which Fjölís and Gigjan – The Association of Women´s Choir in Iceland concluded, and both associations recommended to the member choirs. Negotiations with other choirs are in progress.
Surveys and statistical results
No survey has been carried out since in late 1998 when a statistical survey was carried out in primary and secondary schools in Iceland. Third party carried out the survey for Fjölís and the Ministry of Education. It was the first survey in schools since 1988, when a survey on photocopying in schools and universities was carried out. According to this survey photocopying of protected works (paper) amounts to 15,6 million pages per year (approx. 260 copy-pages (paper) per each student) or 27% of the total photocopying.
